Working Group 4 Capacity Building, Education and Awareness Raising

Will address the full range of related matters relevant to environmental awareness building, education at all levels, and various types and capacity building.

The primary initial themes to be addressed by this Working Group include the following:

  • Uses of environmental information networks for increasing public awareness
  • Access to environmental information infrastructure in support of education at primary and secondary school levels, as well as higher education and research
  • Technical capacity building for environmental institutions – issues, challenges and opportunities
  • Knowledge and technology transfer
  • Knowledge management
  • Social network information and crowd-sourcing
